In this sparkling confection, disguise and deception are the order of the day. The entertainments at Prince Orlofsky’s villa confound husband and wife, master and servant–it’s just a harmless prank, after all, and champagne always lessens the sting. Last performed in Cincinnati over 30 years ago, Johann Strauss, Jr.’s Die Fledermaus returns in a brand-new co-production with Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.
