Finance Department Assistant
Cincinnati Opera, a non-profit and the nation’s second oldest opera company, has an entry-level opening for a part-time finance department assistant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to processing of purchase orders, accounts payable and receivables, preparations of bank deposits, weekly check runs, exporting financial reports and filing and maintaining paid and pending invoices. This position is part of the Finance and Administrative team and works in conjunction with other staff members to accumulate and disseminate financial information in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications: Candidates for this entry-level position should have a working knowledge of and experience in P/O, A/P, A/R and G/L systems as well as Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Blackbaud General Ledger for Not for Profits accounting package is a plus. Conceptual thinking, good organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills and an appreciation for the culture of non-profits are a must.

Public Relations Associate
Cincinnati Opera seeks a Public Relations Associate. This position reports to the Public Relations Director. Areas of responsibility include providing general administrative support, managing the Cincinnati Opera website, assisting in the creation of press releases and other promotional materials, and serving on a team to advance a consistent brand experience for the company. Founded in 1920 and the second oldest opera company in the nation, Cincinnati Opera presents four mainstage productions every summer in the city’s historic Music Hall, a 3,425-seat acoustical and architectural gem.
Qualifications: Candidates should have excellent writing and organizational skills, basic knowledge of website editing, a record of building strong working relationships, and familiarity with the operatic art form. Salary commensurate with experience.

Opera-tunities Residency Program
In 5 minutes, tell us why opera matters! You can sing, talk, dance, draw, juggle, mime, or whatever allows you to best express the power of opera. Cincinnati Opera is seeking highly creative teaching artists to participate in the 2008-2009 Opera-tunities Residency Program.

Teaching artists will guide students through a range of opera related programs designed by Cincinnati Opera.

Artists will include singers, composers, designers, actors, directors, and teachers. Programs include residencies, masterclasses, and workshops.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the excitement of opera through their preferred art form in a 5-minute presentation designed for the classroom.
