All of those involved have an eye on the future, while always building and learning from a glorious past.
A growing number of patrons and friends are ensuring that grand opera will continue in Cincinnati for generations to come by becoming a respected member of the Society of Angels and providing for Cincinnati Opera through their planned giving gifts. As the second-oldest opera company in the United States, Cincinnati Opera has proven itself to be an artistically and financially sound organization time and again with the continued support of donors and successful fundraising efforts.
Cincinnati Opera prides itself on its fiscal responsibility, and the annual operating budget is supported by a mix of earned and contributed income. Proceeds from ticket sales represent less than one-third of the Opera's annual income and cover a small portion of the expenses required to produce grand opera. To keep opera affordable for everyone, other funding sources such as charitable gifts and endowment income cover a majority of operating expenses.
